We are committed to including all people regardless of race, age, culture, ability, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation. We believe that all people are made in the image of God and we celebrate and welcome who you are as God created you. Come as you are! Join us in person or online. We offer worship experiences that are welcoming and meet the needs of all; large-print bulletins, hearing receivers that connect with the audio system, elevators in both buildings, and worship offered online each Sunday are available. If you have a question or concern, please contact us (see contact information below).

Week 6-Lines that divide

The church, like all other parts of societies where the church exists, is known for drawing lines—between right and wrong, between good and bad, and between how we would like the church to be and how we would absolutely NOT like the church to be. This tendency started in the very early days of the church, and the line that was drawn in those days was circumcision, the sign of God’s covenant with Moses that all observant Jewish men accepted as an important part of their identity. In the New Testament, there are many stories about how the church struggled, with some wanting the line about circumcision to hold firm and others wanting to erase it altogether, thus opening the church to people who had been exiled from God’s covenant and the faith community–all those who were not Jewish.

In that the church continues to draw lines that divide, we will be looking at how these lines operated in the early church and how they can continue to divide people today, as we explore how to form a community of exiles practicing hospitality (number 6 of the 7 Signs of a Thriving Congregation). I hope you can join us at 10:30 am in person and online.

Lois Guy memorial service May 29

Longtime member Lois Guy died last week. As we thank God for her life and witness, we pray for her family and friends who mourn her passing, including her sons and her niece, Corinth member Debbie Marsh. The memorial service celebrating and giving thanks for the life and witness of longtime member of Corinth Lois Guy is open to any who would like to stand with the family at this moment of grief and loss.

The service will be held on Friday, May 29, at 1 pm, Miami Valley Memory Gardens, 1639 E Lytle 5 Points Rd, Centerville.

There is a condolence card on the sanctuary table, which will be delivered to the family; everyone is encouraged to sign the card.
